Enterprise Data & Analytics Senior Data Engineer

Hybrid | San Diego, CA

Compensation: $105,000 - $132,000 per year

Actual compensation within this range will be determined by factors including experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and other job-related considerations permitted by law.

As an Enterprise Data & Analytics Senior Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping and expanding our Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence environments. You'll partner with business and technology teams to design, build, and optimize enterprise-scale data solutions. This role will help drive the evolution of our Enterprise Data & Analytics platform, modernize our data ecosystem, and deliver meaningful insights that empower our business and members.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases, data models, stored procedures, functions, views, and related database objects.
  • Build and optimize enterprise data warehouse solutions and data integration processes.
  • Develop and support ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Azure Data Factory, Python, and related technologies.
  • Design, develop, and maintain reporting and analytics solutions using Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Support the modernization of data and analytics platforms through Microsoft Azure technologies, including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake Storage, Synapse Analytics, Apache Spark, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, accuracy, and availability across enterprise systems.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between internal and external business systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, performance challenges, and data-related concerns.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to strategic data platform initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and code review support to team members.
  • Support source control, deployment, and software development lifecycle processes using Azure DevOps and Git.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and best practices.
  • Stay current on emerging trends and technologies in data engineering, analytics, business intelligence, and cloud computing.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Development, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in database engineering and design within OLTP and OLAP environments.
  • 5+ years of experience developing data extraction, transformation, and loading processes using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Python, or similar technologies.
  • 5+ years of experience developing enterprise reporting and analytics solutions using Power BI and SSRS.
  • Advanced expertise with SQL Server 2016 and newer versions.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Data warehousing concepts
  • Dimensional modeling and star schema design
  • Data modeling and normalization
  • ETL/ELT development
  • Data quality and governance
  • Reporting and business intelligence solutions
  • Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure data and analytics technologies, including:
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Azure Data Lake Storage
  • Databricks
  • Apache Spark
  • Microsoft Fabric
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD practices, and source control management.
  • Python development experience.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale data and analytics environments.
