Field Project Manager III

Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering-led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Saber serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad.
Saber Power Services is seeking an experienced Field Project Manager III to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of complex high-voltage construction projects in the field. This position is responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements, technical specifications, and company standards.
The Field Project Manager III serves as a senior field leader and primary point of contact between field operations, project management, engineering, subcontractors, vendors, and clients. This role is expected to independently manage complex projects, anticipate and resolve issues, and provide leadership and direction to field teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day field execution of high-voltage construction projects, including substations, transmission, and distribution projects.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, daily reports, and Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting.
- Monitor project performance, costs, productivity, and schedule progress and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, vendors, engineering teams, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
- Conduct daily project meetings, safety briefings, and job hazard analyses.
- Ensure compliance with company safety requirements, OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, and client-specific safety programs.
- Oversee material deliveries, equipment requirements, manpower, and work sequencing.
- Review and approve timesheets, daily reports, field documentation, and project records.
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify potential schedule, cost, quality, and resource issues.
- Resolve field issues and coordinate solutions with Project Managers, Engineering, Operations, and company leadership.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and quality requirements.
- Participate in project planning, constructability reviews, and development of execution strategies.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and serve as a professional representative of Saber Power in the field.
- Provide regular project updates, forecasts, and status reports to project and executive leadership.
- Mentor and provide guidance to Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Superintendents, and field personnel as needed.
- Support project closeout activities, including documentation, punch lists, as-builts, and final project reporting.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent high-voltage utility or industrial electrical construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in high-voltage utility or industrial electrical construction.
- Proven experience independently managing complex substation, transmission, or distribution projects in the field.
- Previous experience leading field project teams and coordinating subcontractors and vendors.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management training preferred.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and construction documents.

- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety, quality, schedule, and cost control.
