Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in DWDM or TCP/IP or system design operations methodology.
- Experience working with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors.
Preferred qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in carrier-class scale environments, with in-depth technical knowledge of both Layer 1 physical infrastructure (DWDM, AC/DC power, OSP/ISP) and Layer 2/3 networking (TCP/IP, routing).
- Experience identifying recurring errors in deployment packages or specifications and driving feedback loops.
- Familiarity with network automation tools, scripting, or SQL to query databases and track deployment consistency.
- Ability to lead technical projects and troubleshoot field deployments, ensuring installation quality and resolving on-site technical blockers to meet project timelines.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills, providing frequent updates in bugs/tickets to unblock projects and resolve immediate issues.

As a Network Implementation Engineer, you will be the initial point of our efforts to execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide. You will work with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, Field Engineers within Google, as well as construction and telecommunications vendors and contractors, all to position your team and organization for success.

The Network Team is responsible for operating that network reliably and at scale. Our team owns the full life cycle of all space, power, and network assets in all of Google’s data centers and metro points of presence globally. From the foundation, we are involved from site acquisition to construction and are accountable for what space and power is delivered. We're involved in every facet of network delivery from architecture and design to installation, configuration, activation, and commissioning. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $126000 - $180000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

- Oversee and conduct QA of installation technicians for rack, stack and installation of networking equipment.
- Test routers, optical transport equipment, and other network devices in new and existing network nodes across Google's global network.
- Generate implementation plans and provide technical leadership and guidance during deployment activities.
- Work closely with project management, network engineering and rest of the engineering team to identify in advance potential problems in network installations, including in the areas of facility power (AC/DC), cooling, security/access, rack layout and cable management.
- Own network documentation, updating and maintaining network drawings and plans.
