This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, Quality Engineering based in United States.
This role offers the opportunity to own quality engineering across a high-scale financial technology platform and its customer-facing implementations. You will lead a globally distributed QA organization spanning web, mobile, automation, manual testing, and enterprise delivery. The position combines strategic quality leadership with hands-on involvement in automation, release governance, incident response, and continuous improvement. You will establish quality standards that support the demanding expectations of banks and other regulated financial institutions. Working closely with Engineering, Professional Services, Post-Sales, and customers, you will ensure product changes and integrations are thoroughly tested, documented, and accepted. You will use quality metrics, test coverage, release gates, and audit-ready evidence to create measurable confidence in every deployment. Accountabilities
- Own the end-to-end quality engineering strategy across the platform and customer-facing delivery, coordinating quality efforts across a globally distributed QA organization.
- Establish and maintain quality governance appropriate for banking, payments, fintech, and other regulated environments, including test standards, coverage targets, release criteria, and audit-ready documentation.
- Define and monitor quality KPIs and coverage metrics to provide clear visibility into product quality, testing effectiveness, release readiness, and areas for improvement.
- Lead quality-related incident response, including issue triage, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, prevention strategies, and clear post-incident communication.
- Partner with engineering teams to strengthen automated testing, CI/CD release gates, regression coverage, and testing practices for high-throughput, real-time systems.
- Oversee structured manual and exploratory testing where appropriate, ensuring automation is complemented by effective human validation.
- Partner with Professional Services and Post-Sales teams to support user acceptance testing, structured acceptance processes, integration validation, and customer deployments.
- Ensure product changes and customer integrations are thoroughly tested, accurately documented, and formally accepted before release.
- Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing distributed QA organization across multiple time zones and cultures.
- Establish consistent quality practices and standards across the organization while encouraging ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Work cross-functionally to identify quality risks early and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are incorporated into development and release processes.
- Contribute to engineering culture by promoting accountability, strong quality standards, data-driven decision-making, and continuous learning.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience in software quality engineering, QA, or a closely related discipline.
- 2+ years of experience managing QA or Quality Engineering teams, including experience developing talent and establishing effective team practices.
- Proven experience owning quality programs within a regulated environment such as banking, payments, fintech, or financial services.
- Strong understanding of audit requirements, UAT, documented testing governance, release controls, and quality assurance practices for regulated products.
- Strong quality engineering mindset with hands-on understanding of test automation, CI/CD gating, regression testing, coverage measurement, manual testing, and exploratory testing.
- Hands-on experience developing test automation using Cypress or comparable modern testing frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing distributed teams across different time zones, cultures, and working environments.
- Strong analytical and metrics-driven approach, with the ability to define, monitor, and communicate meaningful quality KPIs.
- Experience working closely with software engineering teams and integrating quality practices into modern development and deployment workflows.
- Strong incident management, root-cause analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with confidence working across engineering, professional services, customer-facing, and leadership teams.
- Ability to balance strategic quality governance with practical execution in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving technology environment.
