Senior Developer

Location: Kolkata, India Work Model: Hybrid – 3 Days per Week in Office

About the Role

The Senior Developer is responsible for the overall performance of the product by applying principles of software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of software. This role ensures the timely delivery of high-quality software within release timelines and guidelines, while providing technical mentorship and influencing engineering standards across the team.

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do.

• Develop complex code based on functional specifications; complete logic and algorithm design in alignment with established standards, translating software requirements into clear and precise design specifications.

• Perform complex peer code reviews and analysis; provide insight on the broader impact of software changes while incorporating business value and influencing technical direction for other team members.

• Test code to verify it meets technical specifications and is working as intended; create and apply automated tests and test principles to software changes, including unit tests.

• Influence and lead team standards, processes, and events — including planning, work estimation, solution demos, reviews, and implementation design discussions.

• Research complex escalations for production issues or software code issues to ensure application stability; implement development standards to ensure compliance with product and industry practices and regulations.

• Mentor, coach, train, and provide feedback to team members; make recommendations for internal process improvements and product documentation based on a thorough understanding of business applications and coding tasks.

Role Essentials

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with significant experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Java, C/C++, C#, Python, or JavaScript.

• Experience with data structures, algorithms, software design, and continuous software delivery in Windows/Linux development environments using open source tools and platforms.

• Demonstrated experience with build environments, delivery pipelines, test automation, and continuous integration tools.

• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

• Strong oral and written communication skills with a professional demeanor; demonstrated ability to influence, motivate, and mobilize team members and business partners.

• Experience with .NET and Angular/React frameworks; strong ability to translate goals into the implementation of new ideas and design solutions.

• Driven to learn and stay current professionally; passionate, competitive, and intellectually curious with sharp technology curiosity and aptitude.

• Experience in software application testing tools, methodologies, and process frameworks; ability to contribute to a delivery pipeline inclusive of test automation, security, and performance.

• Strong ability to provide technical and constructive feedback to team members; experience mentoring junior developers and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.

• Good ability to establish rapport and gain the trust of others; effective at gaining consensus across teams and with stakeholders at all levels.
