About the role:

We are on the lookout for a dynamic Network Security Engineer, who will primarily work within our Portfolio Projects under the Network and Security Operations team to identify, implement, maintain and monitor networking security solutions across the organisation in the Security infrastructure space. You will meet regularly with Project Delivery / Platform Leads and the Network and Security Senior Leader to discuss priorities, projects and tasking within the team.

This role is offered as a 12 Months Fixed term contract with potential extension or permanency

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, Install and configure network and security infrastructure (Firewalls, Policy, proxies, F5 LTM/GTM etc).
  • Monitor performance and ensure network availability and reliability.
  • Document network and security policies, procedures, design and configurations.
  • Keep up to date on current threat landscape.
  • Analyse and assess requirements and scope for continual operational improvement in security space.
  • Ability to innovate and understand new technologies.

About you

Extensive knowledge and experience working within complex enterprise networks are a must, with high-level analytical and troubleshooting skills and high-level abilities in maintaining the stability and performance of security infrastructure across the organisation.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • High Level knowledge in security principles and technical understanding of IT security related technologies (e.g. Firewalls, data encryption, PKI, HSM, DLP/IDS, etc.);
  • High level knowledge of LAN/WAN networking (Cisco Catalyst, Nexus VXLAN/EVPN) and DNS technologies.
  • High level knowledge of the Cisco security suite (ISE, Stealthwatch, Meraki, etc)
  • High level knowledge of Checkpoint (VSX / Maestro), Zscaler and F5 (BigIP / F5 XC) technologies.
  • High level knowledge of Cisco ThousandEyes / PRTG
  • Knowledge of frameworks relevant to role.
  • Strong Communication skills, including the ability to write procedural, process and reporting documentation.
  • Show initiative and the ability work with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional time management skills and demonstrated ability to prioritise job queues.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.

Qualifications and Memberships

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications at Degree level or higher in Information Technology, Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Relevant and current accreditations (Checkpoint, F5 etc) or equivalent experience in operational security will be highly regarded
