Engineer - Sr. (Frontend, iOS)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Engineer - Sr. (Frontend, iOS) based in India.

This is an opportunity to build and evolve a flagship consumer iOS application used by millions of people worldwide. You will develop engaging features, refine existing experiences, and help shape how users interact with a global dining platform. The role sits within a lean, fast-moving Payments Platform team working closely with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering. You will have meaningful influence over technical architecture, product decisions, experimentation, and the end-to-end payment experience. The position combines hands-on Swift development with opportunities to improve code quality, testing, performance, and engineering practices. You will also mentor fellow engineers and contribute to a culture focused on high-quality consumer experiences and continuous innovation. Accountabilities

• Design and implement new iOS product features using Swift, collaborating closely with Product and Design teams.

• Contribute to the end-to-end payment experience within a high-scale consumer application.

• Partner with designers and product managers to translate product requirements into practical, user-focused technical solutions.

• Collaborate with Backend Engineering teams to define and integrate public APIs used by mobile applications.

• Participate in product experimentation, including A/B test design, feature rollout, and evaluation of user outcomes.

• Maintain and enhance the existing iOS codebase, addressing bugs, improving reliability, and refactoring legacy components when appropriate.

• Write and maintain unit tests to support code quality, stability, and maintainability.

• Contribute to application architecture by introducing modern development patterns, including reactive and asynchronous approaches.

• Keep the application aligned with current iOS and system framework updates.

• Develop tools and engineering practices that make application testing, debugging, and development more efficient.

• Contribute to technical decisions that balance product requirements, user experience, performance, and maintainability.

• Mentor and guide other engineers, helping strengthen technical capabilities and engineering standards across the team.

• Collaborate effectively within a lean, cross-functional environment that values speed, ownership, and high-quality execution.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional iOS development experience with strong proficiency in Swift.

• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining production-quality consumer mobile applications.

• Strong understanding of iOS development, application architecture, system frameworks, and modern development patterns.

• Experience implementing product features from requirements through development, testing, and release.

• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, with an ability to make pragmatic architectural and technical decisions.

• Experience with unit testing is strongly preferred.

• Familiarity with APIs and backend technologies is an advantage, although not required.

• Familiarity with Android application development is a plus.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, and other stakeholders.

• Strong product mindset and an appreciation for thoughtful, intuitive user experiences and good visual design.

• Passion for consumer technology and building products that are used at significant scale.

• Pragmatic, adaptable, and comfortable learning new technologies and approaches quickly.

• Ability to work effectively in a lean, fast-paced, globally distributed environment.

• Demonstrated ability or interest in mentoring engineers and contributing to the development of a high-performing engineering team.

• Ability to collaborate across international time zones and occasionally respond to work-related communications outside conventional local business hours when required.
