Position Overview:
Leads the Cloud Platform Architecture, Microsoft 365, and Infrastructure Engineering functions responsible for delivering secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective technology platforms. Provides technical and people leadership across cloud infrastructure, modern workplace technologies, automation, architecture, governance, and operational excellence. Partners with business, security, finance, architecture, and engineering teams to align infrastructure investments with organizational strategy while developing a high-performing engineering culture.
Job Description:
EDUCATION: Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
- Bachelor's: Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 8 years recent relevant experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Cloud Architecture & Engineering
- Experience designing, implementing, and managing public cloud, hybrid cloud, and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Strong knowledge of architectural standards, reference architectures, governance frameworks, and engineering best practices.
- Proven experience leading infrastructure modernization initiatives, including automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), platform engineering, and cloud-native technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to design and support resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions aligned with industry best practices.
- Experience collaborating with cybersecurity, networking, data, and application teams to deliver integrated enterprise technology solutions.
Microsoft 365 & Modern Workplace Ownership
- Experience leading and supporting Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, and identity management integrations.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 modernization initiatives focused on enhancing collaboration, security, compliance, and end-user experience.
- Experience developing and implementing governance frameworks for collaboration platforms, data protection, information lifecycle management, external sharing, and AI-enabled technologies.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 security, compliance, and data governance best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to drive adoption and organizational utilization of emerging Microsoft technologies and cloud-based productivity solutions.
- Strong understanding of change management, user adoption strategies, and digital workplace transformation initiatives.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to align Microsoft 365 capabilities with business objectives and operational needs.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Advanced knowledge of implementing sophisticated technology to support a large, complex, and geographically diverse multi-entity business.
- Analyze information, problems, situations, practices, and procedures in order to identify relevant concerns and factors.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with clients, IS team members, management, and executive personnel/staff.
- Demonstrated managerial and organizational skills to articulate the value of plans and strategies, and assemble consensus across all levels of Sutter Health.
- Verbal and writing skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups such as: executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Sound understanding of healthcare operations including: hospitals, clinics, medical offices, and IS needs.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams committed to carrying out initiatives in environments that may be resistant to change.
- Proven ability to align strategic planning, budget preparation, resource management, and performance monitoring into an actionable technology plan capable of delivering desired results.
- Encourage individuals either in a one-to-one or small group situation in order to establish rapport and gain the trust of others or to listen perceptively and convey awareness.

Pay Range is $181,875.20 to $291,012.80 / annual salary
The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
