Overview
Nakupuna Federal is seeking a Project Manager to join our team of talented consultants providing professional services to the Defense Health Agency (DHA). This full-time position supports the planning, execution, monitoring, documentation, and coordination of military healthcare projects, including information technology efforts. The ideal candidate has three to five years of project management experience and can manage multiple efforts in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities

- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project plans, work breakdown structures, and project schedules using existing Government tools.
- Support the planning and execution of military healthcare projects, including information technology initiatives, by coordinating tasks, schedules, resources, and deliverables.
- Monitor and track project progress against established baselines, milestones, deliverables, and deadlines, and report deviations to the Government lead.
- Identify, analyze, and document project risks and issues; maintain current risk registers and issue logs; and support timely resolution and mitigation activities.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc project status reports, briefings, dashboards, and other project documentation for various levels of leadership.
- Schedule and facilitate project meetings, including kick-off meetings, status reviews, and technical interchange meetings.
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, record and publish meeting minutes, and track action items through completion.
- Prepare documentation in DHA-approved formats and maintain project records in designated locations, including SharePoint and Microsoft Teams sites.
- Serve as a point of contact for project-related inquiries and coordinate communication among clinical, technical, and administrative stakeholders.
- Support special projects and other project management activities as assigned in support of DHA requirements.
- Provide project management products and services that are timely, accurate, and complete.
Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications: The ideal candidate is an organized and service-oriented project management professional who communicates clearly, exercises sound judgment, and works effectively with Government and contractor personnel. Specifically, the candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, performance tracking, risk and issue management, and project documentation practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience supporting federal information technology procurements or projects is desired.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Three to five years of demonstrated experience in a project management role.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification is preferred.
Security Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen and successfully pass the required security background investigation.
Location: Work is performed on-site in San Diego, California. Local hybrid telework may be permitted in accordance with DHA policies and with approval from the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). This is a full-time position. No travel is anticipated.
Physical Requirements: In addition to the skills and qualifications described above, candidates must, at a minimum, be able to meet the following physical requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to use stairs without assistance.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
- Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk while working on a computer.
The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000.00 to $140,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
