What’s the role?
The Data Governance Analyst plays a support role in strengthening BT’s data foundations, embedding data management practices across delivery workflows, and ensuring we maintain trust in our data.
This role helps operationalise data governance, uplift data capability across the organisation, and ensure BT complies with both the AI Risk Management Standard and the Data Risk Management Policy. The position works closely with Data & Analytics, IT, Projects, AI teams, and business stakeholders to establish a consistent, scalable approach to managing and governing data across core systems.
BT is the wealth management brand of Westpac Group. This role sits within Service and Operations as a member of the S&O Leadership Team, partnering with Product, Technology, Risk, BCM, Finance, PMO and outsourced providers to ensure robust, compliant and scalable operations
What do I need?
- Support the definition, refinement, and ongoing enhancement of BT’s data management framework.
- Collaborate with Divisional and Group teams on data management framework and best practice
- Translate framework elements into practical processes that can be embedded across Projects, IT, Analytics, and AI workflows.
- Work with project teams to integrate data governance checkpoints, quality controls, metadata requirements, and lineage considerations into delivery practices.
- Partner with IT and analytics teams to ensure data management principles are applied during system changes, data migrations, AI model development, and platform uplift activities.
- Support the operationalisation and monitoring of:
- AI Risk Management Standard, including risk assessment activities for AI-enabled solutions.
- Data Risk Management Policy, helping teams understand obligations related to quality, privacy, access, and security.
