The Senior Physical Security Engineer will be responsible for the most high level configuration and integration of access control systems, IP and analog surveillance systems and supporting systems such as networking, virtualization, database integration/automation and IT concerns. The Senior Physec Engineer will function as the technical lead and engineering interface with the customer on enterprise and/or strategic accounts. They will also serve as a subject matter expert and should have expert knowledge of all PhySec systems works with and will be asked to serve as a technical advisor to both internal resources as well as clients. Additionally, the Senior Physical Security Engineer shall have the ability to supervise other Physical Security Engineers
Essential Functions
- Design and configuration of physical security and supporting systems at an advanced enterprise level
- Supervisory oversight of Physical Security Engineers
- Technical oversight of project engineering and configuration tasks
- Documentation and end user training
- Serve as a subject matter expert
- Serve as a technical advisor
- Serve as an escalation point for troubleshooting
- Develop and oversee project commissioning and testing
- Shall assist in the development and enforcement of standards related to final documentation
- Assist in the development of A3 University training courses
- Participate as a trainer in A3U and other training programs
- Perform end-user training
- Other relative duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
- Shall hold and retain certification in at least (2) access control systems
- Shall hold and retain enterprise/advanced-level certification in at least (2) access control or VMS’s.
- Shall have a minimum (3) years of experience configuring large enterprise physical security systems
- Shall serve as a Physical Security Engineer (or equal) for a minimum of (2) years
- Shall have verifiable proficiency in network fundamentals, SQL database, Virtualization, Windows Server and basic Linux.
- Shall possess basic knowledge of enterprise databases and directory services (AD, Oracle, Banner, etc.) for the purpose of interfacing with physical security systems.
Physical Demands
Spends more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling/crouching/stooping, using hands and reaching. Spends approximately 1/3 of time walking and talking/hearing. Frequent lifting required of items 25-50 pounds, and occasional lifting over 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Work Environment
Conditions will include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware. Subject to frequent heavy lifting. May require driving to project sites. May be exposed to variable weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
