Role Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help build and lead a growing India-based Data Engineering pod working closely with the UK Data team. This role will be responsible for building scalable data pipelines, improving platform reliability, implementing CI/CD best practices, and supporting modern analytics and AI/ML initiatives.
The candidate should be technically strong, comfortable working in a collaborative international environment, and capable of mentoring junior engineers within the India pod.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines
• Work extensively with Snowflake, dbt, SQL, and Python
• Implement CI/CD practices for data engineering workflows
• Improve monitoring, alerting, reliability, and data quality processes
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, BI teams, and stakeholders
• Support data modelling and architecture initiatives
• Mentor and guide junior engineers within the team
• Contribute to MLOps and production deployment foundations
Required Skills:
• Strong SQL and Python skills
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake
• Strong experience with dbt
• Experience building production-grade data pipelines
• Good understanding of data modelling concepts (3NF, Kimball, etc.)
• Experience with CI/CD and Git-based workflows
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working with cloud-based modern data platforms
Good to Have:
• MLOps exposure
• Experience with orchestration tools
• Experience supporting BI/Analytics teams
• Agile/product-based environment experience
Additional Notes:
• This role will work very closely with UK-based engineering teams
• Strong communication and ownership mindset are important
• Previous experience mentoring or leading engineers is preferred
