Data Engineer

Role Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help build and lead a growing India-based Data Engineering pod working closely with the UK Data team. This role will be responsible for building scalable data pipelines, improving platform reliability, implementing CI/CD best practices, and supporting modern analytics and AI/ML initiatives.

The candidate should be technically strong, comfortable working in a collaborative international environment, and capable of mentoring junior engineers within the India pod.

Key Responsibilities:

•⁠ ⁠Build and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines

•⁠ ⁠Work extensively with Snowflake, dbt, SQL, and Python

•⁠ ⁠Implement CI/CD practices for data engineering workflows

•⁠ ⁠Improve monitoring, alerting, reliability, and data quality processes

•⁠ ⁠Collaborate with Data Scientists, BI teams, and stakeholders

•⁠ ⁠Support data modelling and architecture initiatives

•⁠ ⁠Mentor and guide junior engineers within the team

•⁠ ⁠Contribute to MLOps and production deployment foundations

Required Skills:

•⁠ ⁠Strong SQL and Python skills

•⁠ ⁠Hands-on experience with Snowflake

•⁠ ⁠Strong experience with dbt

•⁠ ⁠Experience building production-grade data pipelines

•⁠ ⁠Good understanding of data modelling concepts (3NF, Kimball, etc.)

•⁠ ⁠Experience with CI/CD and Git-based workflows

•⁠ ⁠Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

•⁠ ⁠Experience working with cloud-based modern data platforms

Good to Have:

•⁠ ⁠MLOps exposure

•⁠ ⁠Experience with orchestration tools

•⁠ ⁠Experience supporting BI/Analytics teams

•⁠ ⁠Agile/product-based environment experience

•⁠ ⁠This role will work very closely with UK-based engineering teams

•⁠ ⁠Strong communication and ownership mindset are important

•⁠ ⁠Previous experience mentoring or leading engineers is preferred
