Summary:
Norsat International Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst - Quality to support production and compliance activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on process improvement, issue resolution, calibration coordination, supplier performance monitoring, and data analysis to help maintain high standards of product reliability and operational efficiency.
What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate and execute root cause investigation, tracking, and executions for internal and external issues.
- Assist with failure analysis activities and help implement effective resolution measures.
- Monitor and maintain continuous improvement initiatives associated with operational and compliance activities.
- Participate in internal assessments and external compliance reviews, including documentation preparation and follow-up activities.
- Analyze production and inspection data to identify trends, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain calibration schedules and records for testing and inspection equipment.
- Support manufacturing process improvements that align with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments during new product introduction and transition activities.
- Contribute to supplier qualification reviews and ongoing vendor performance evaluations.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate quality and operational documentation.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering field, or 5 years of equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality control, quality assurance in manufacturing.
- Familiarity with production processes, inspection methods, and operational improvement practices.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- Understanding of ISO standards and regulated manufacturing environments is considered an asset.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or process optimization methodologies is beneficial.
- ASQ certification (CQE or related designation) is considered an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
