About this role

As Sr. Manager, Data Engineering - Logistics within our Data & Analytics (DnA) organization, you will lead and empower a cross-functional team of data engineers and analysts. You will drive the evolution of JET's critical logistics data infrastructure, streaming analytics, and real-time delivery intelligence systems to power fleet optimization across global markets.

In this role, you will embody our core values to lead, deliver, and care—combining a customer-centric approach with cross-functional teamwork to deliver scalable, high-impact data solutions that keep our operational engines running smoothly.

These are some of the key components to the position:

• Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of data engineers and analysts, emphasizing collaboration and helping one another succeed.

• Define and execute a strategic logistics data roadmap in close partnership with Scoober Operations, 3rd Party Logistics, Delco, and Product teams.

• Aim high by building and scaling real-time streaming architectures (Kafka, Kinesis) to power live delivery tracking and route optimization.

• Drive excellence as the safekeeper of key logistics metrics including delivery time, fleet efficiency, on-time delivery, and cost per delivery.

• Act as a bridge between data infrastructure and operational needs, translating complex business demands into reliable, real-time data solutions.

• Champion the adoption and education of logistics data products across regional operations teams and global analytics stakeholders.

• Foster team growth towards expertise in streaming data systems, real-time analytics, and operational ML/AI applications.

• Cultivate strong collaborative relationships across Operations, Product, and Data Platform leadership to align on shared strategic goals.

What will you bring to the team?

• Proven track record of managing and growing high-performing data engineering teams while maintaining hands-on technical credibility.

• Deep technical knowledge of streaming architectures (Kafka, Kinesis, Flink), cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery), and modern data stacks (dbt, Airflow).

• Ability to develop an understanding of our internal and external partners to effectively balance central data standards with regional needs.

• Strong commitment to achieving goals by building durable, scalable data platforms that empower operational decision-making.

• Expertise in operational data modeling, event-driven architectures, and real-time analytics for logistics or fleet management platforms.

• Continuous drive to aim higher to drive excellence across engineering standards, operational rigor, and data governance.

• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with a focus on translating complex technical concepts for operational and senior leadership.

• Dedication to act responsibly while making a lasting impact on team culture, inclusivity, and multi-market logistics operations.
