Product Manager – Payments Infrastructure & Security
Experience
- 5–10 years of Product Management experience in Payments / FinTech / Financial Services.
- Strong experience with card networks (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and payment infrastructure systems.
Core Domain Expertise
Card Payments & Infrastructure
- Deep understanding of card payment rails and network ecosystems.
- Hands-on experience with ISO 8583 / ISO 20022 messaging standards.
- End-to-end understanding of payment lifecycle:• Authorization flows
- Clearing & settlement
- Chargebacks & disputes
- Card-present vs card-not-present transactions
Security & Risk Across Product Chain
- Ownership of security considerations across the end-to-end payment product lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of fraud prevention and risk controls in payment systems.
- Experience designing secure transaction flows, authentication mechanisms, and system-level safeguards.
- Awareness of common payment attack vectors (fraud patterns, unauthorized transactions, abuse patterns).
Technical Depth
- Ability to read API specifications and review ERDs independently.
- Strong understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, REST APIs, and messaging systems.
- Able to participate in system design and architecture discussions with engineering teams.
Execution & Delivery
- Strong ownership of sprint hygiene:• Backlog grooming and prioritization
- User story definition and sizing
- Definition of Done (DoD)
- QA and release readiness
- Ability to enforce delivery discipline while collaborating closely with engineering teams.
Stakeholder Management
- Experience working with card networks, internal platform teams, and external integration partners.
- Ability to translate business, security, and technical requirements into clear product specifications.
