Accountabilities: The Senior Python Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and improving complex software systems while ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance across production environments.
- Design, develop, and enhance enterprise-grade applications, data-intensive services, and automation platforms using Python.
- Build secure, scalable, and high-performing systems that operate reliably in distributed production environments.
- Translate complex business requirements into well-engineered technical solutions in collaboration with product, data, and infrastructure teams.
- Participate throughout the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Develop and maintain application components while applying strong software engineering principles and coding standards.
- Analyze and resolve complex technical issues by identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
- Design and optimize database interactions, including query performance improvements and schema enhancements.
- Implement automated testing, CI/CD practices, application resiliency patterns, and secure development approaches.
- Contribute to architecture decisions, technical improvements, and engineering best practices across the team.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining clear communication with technical and business stakeholders.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate brings extensive Python development experience, strong software engineering fundamentals, and the ability to deliver reliable solutions in complex enterprise environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of professional Python development experience in enterprise environments.
- Proven experience building and supporting large-scale production applications with strong reliability and uptime requirements.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Sybase, including query optimization and schema design.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and the complete software development lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with application development, automated testing, debugging, and operational support.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, performance optimization, and engineering trade-offs.
- Experience troubleshooting complex enterprise applications in production environments.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, CI/CD workflows, secure coding practices, and application resiliency patterns.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Preferred experience with UNIX/Linux environments, shell scripting, and command-line tools.
- Preferred knowledge of Python data and machine learning libraries, including NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- Preferred exposure to AWS services and cloud-native technologies such as S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and Glue.
