Data Scientist

We're looking for a Data Scientist to join us at Telia. 

I'm Niklas Ballay, Head of Digital Evolution & Automation, and I’m searching for someone ready to grow with us. We’re a supportive, forward-thinking team that develops data, automation and AI capabilities to create measurable value across Telia Infra. 

What you'll do 

You will turn business needs into robust data and AI solutions, with a particular focus on generative and agentic AI from idea to production. 

• Develop and implement solutions within data science, machine learning and AI, including predictive models and advanced analytics. 

• Design build and deploy AI agents and intelligent workflows using LLMs, RAG, vector databases and modern AI frameworks. 

• Own the technical setup and lifecycle of AI solutions, ensuring they are secure, scalable, maintainable and ready for production in a mixed IT environment. 

• Collaborate with business experts, data engineers, analysts and product owners to identify high-value use cases and support digital change. 

What will help you thrive in this role 

You are curious, solution-oriented and comfortable combining technical depth with business understanding. You take initiative, learn through experimentation and enjoy creating value together with others. 

• Proven experience in data science, agentic AI, AI engineering or a related field, including taking AI/ML solutions from concept to production. 

• Strong knowledge of Python, machine learning, generative AI, LLMs and RAG solutions. 

• Ability to translate complex business needs into secure and scalable technical solutions and work independently in a complex IT environment. 

• Fluency in English and Swedish. The role is based in Gothenburg and includes office presence three days per week.
