Your Role in Supporting Our Members:
As a Network Engineer, you will provide technical expertise for the design, administration, operation, and configuration of Vancity’s network infrastructure. You will support the stability, security, and performance of enterprise networking platforms while helping optimize current technologies, manage technology lifecycle activities, and deliver network solutions that support evolving business needs. This role plays a key part in ensuring highly available and secure network services while building strong partnerships across technology teams and external vendors. We’re seeking a collaborative and technically strong professional with experience supporting complex network environments and driving continuous improvement.
This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Manager, Network Technologies. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands
How You'll Make an Impact:
- Designing, developing, documenting, and maintaining foundational network platforms including wide area networks, campus environments, disaster recovery, contact centre, cloud, security, and wireless solutions
- Providing second-level technology support to the IT Service Desk to ensure service level goals and technology standards are met
- Conducting detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis for business and technology applications
- Recommending optimized, cost-effective, and secure network designs that support business and technology requirements
- Managing and prioritizing work order queues to support timely and effective service delivery
- Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to implement technology solutions and resolve issues
- Driving continuous improvement through technical trend analysis, proactive problem identification, and lifecycle management activities
- Resolving IT work orders in accordance with established standards and business requirements
- Planning and executing network technology initiatives aligned with organizational operating methodologies
- Building cross-functional relationships to develop and implement network solutions that enhance the employee experience and support business goals
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting and administering enterprise network infrastructure
- Experience with routing, switching, firewalls, wireless networking, VPN technologies, and network security solutions
- Strong understanding of network architecture, performance optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting practices
- Experience supporting cloud networking environments and hybrid infrastructure solutions
- Knowledge of infrastructure lifecycle management, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices
- Experience working with vendors, managed service providers, and cross-functional technology teams
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Azure Networking, Network+, or equivalent are considered an asset
- Location Requirement: Candidates must reside within the Lower Mainland and be able to travel to branch locations as needed to provide timely onsite support
- Transportation Requirement: A valid driver's license is required, as the role involves travel between branch and office locations
- Physical Requirements: Candidates must be able to safely handle and transport IT equipment, including lifting and installing hardware at branch locations
- Work Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada and maintain valid work authorization for the duration of their employment

- Experience with network automation, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code practices
- Familiarity with cloud networking services within Microsoft Azure environments

What You’ll Earn:
This role offers a salary range of $75,700 to $102,400 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
