We are looking for an experienced Android Software Test Automation Leader to join a dynamic automotive engineering team working on a next-generation Android software platform.

In this role, you will play a key part in defining and implementing the software verification strategy, HIL test environment, and test automation framework for automotive Android systems. You will work closely with software, hardware, system, and verification teams to ensure high-quality, reliable, and scalable software solutions.

The ideal candidate is passionate about test automation, embedded systems, Android platforms, and automotive technologies, with strong hands-on experience in Python, pytest, HIL testing, CI/CD, and automotive communication protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, develop, maintain, and execute HIL test strategies, test plans, and automated test campaigns for automotive Android systems.

• Develop and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Python and pytest.

• Automate validation of Android applications, Android Auto integration, connectivity, and system-level functionality.

• Configure and execute Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test environments, including real-time simulations and ECU integration.

• Integrate ECU and HIL test environments into CI/CD pipelines, using tools such as Jenkins, to enable continuous automated verification.

• Develop automated validation for automotive communication protocols including CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and Bluetooth.

• Create and maintain custom pytest plugins, test utilities, and automation components to support scalable testing.

• Design modular, maintainable, and reusable test automation solutions across different test environments.

• Analyze test results, identify defects, perform root-cause analysis, and troubleshoot complex system and integration issues.

• Collaborate closely with software developers, system engineers, hardware engineers, architects, and other cross-functional teams.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of verification methodologies, automation processes, and test infrastructure.

• Support Agile development teams through continuous testing, integration, and automated verification.

• Apply modern tools, including AI-assisted engineering and automation practices, to improve productivity, test coverage, and engineering efficiency.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, including development and execution of HIL test strategies and test plans.

• Proven experience in Android application test automation, preferably within automotive environments.

• Experience with Android Auto integration and connectivity validation.

• Strong programming skills in Python, with practical experience using pytest.

• Experience developing and optimizing test automation frameworks with scalable, modular, and maintainable architecture.

• Hands-on experience integrating ECU/HIL test environments into CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Jenkins.

• Strong knowledge of automotive communication protocols:

• CAN

• LIN

• Automotive Ethernet

• Bluetooth

• Experience with automated testing and validation of automotive communication interfaces.

• Good understanding of automotive embedded systems, ECU architectures, and software verification methodologies.

• Experience preparing, configuring, and executing HIL test campaigns, including real-time simulation of different vehicle operating scenarios.

• Experience working in Agile software development environments.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams across software, hardware, system, and verification engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Android Automotive OS (AAOS) and the Android Auto ecosystem.

• Experience with automotive test tools, HIL platforms, simulation environments, and test management tools.

• Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, and Continuous Verification practices.

• Experience with automated ECU/system-level verification.

• Knowledge of ISO 26262, Automotive SPICE (ASPICE), and other automotive quality standards.

• Experience with requirements management and traceability.

• Familiarity with automotive diagnostics and vehicle communication technologies.

• Experience working with custom automation plugins and test infrastructure development.
