We are seeking a motivated Senior Water and Wastewater Network Engineer to join our high performing Water Division and assist in delivering of our water and wastewater infrastructure projects based in our Brisbane office. Our projects are varied and diverse and span the lifecycle of project delivery from planning through to feasibility studies and the detailed design of packages for construction.
About the Role
Our Water Group is growing, and we have some terrific opportunities for a talented Senior Water and Wastewater Network Engineer who is experienced in delivering water and wastewater infrastructure solutions. Key to this role is bringing some direct experience working in network operations including experience in developing and delivering operational intervention plans, contingency plans, shut planning, and flow control plans. In this position you will play an integral role ensuring the network operational needs of our clients are met through our design processes and the network operational risks are appropriately managed. The Network Engineer role will provide a network operational interface on our projects and will aim to develop network operational awareness and upskilling for a group of planning and design professionals that ‘design with community in mind'. In this role you will help Stantec deliver program and project excellence for our water business clients in both metropolitan, regional, and remote contexts. We have a healthy workload focused on water supply and sewerage schemes with key water authorities in Queensland. You will join a dynamic and skilled team that works on water and wastewater infrastructure projects, not only locally, but across the APAC region.
As a Senior Water and Wastewater Network Engineer in our Water business, you will provide professional engineering skills and leadership for water and wastewater infrastructure projects through the following:
- Lead and develop a small team to support project delivery approvals with our clients in relation to network operational interventions and risk management.
- Lead, review and develop operational intervention plans, network re-supply plans, water network shut plans, sewer network flow control plans, and network risk assessments,
- Strong communication, presentation and client engagement skills
- Working closely with the network operational teams of our clients and with our construction partners.
- Experience in managing and technically leading projects and project teams.
- Working well within multi-disciplined teams with a delivery focus.
- Report writing and presentation development for communication of outcomes to stakeholders. Produce technical outputs that conform to the project scope through strong report writing, presentation development and communication skills.
- Experience using GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap and QGIS Software.
- Support the team in development and expansion of the Company’s capability in the fields of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including obtaining new clients and/or new work from existing clients.
- Support the development of other team members through technical advice and guidance.
- Contribute to the team in proposal and bid development to support business development activities, including preparing proposal material as required.
What sets you apart
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or related suitable professional qualification.
- Relevant professional experience in consulting or engineering within the water industry Between 5 and 10 years of experience is desired. We would also like to hear from you if you are a more senior engineer believing Stantec is the place to further your career.
- Desired previous experience in water supply and sewerage network operations.
- Experience using GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap and QGIS Software
- Desired experience with dealing with a range of clients and stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies and commercial companies.
