Provide participants with the knowledge required for a general understanding of the APX architecture, including the installation, configuration, and use of APX tools for component development. The course will also introduce the terminology and vocabulary needed to begin the APX component development journey.

Prerequisites

Required Knowledge to Attend the Course

  • Understanding of software architecture concepts.
  • Understanding of design and architectural patterns.
  • Knowledge of environment variable configuration in Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems.
  • Ability to use command-line interfaces (PowerShell, Bourne Shell, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of Docker containers.
  • Basic knowledge of virtual machines using Oracle VirtualBox.
  • Knowledge and practical use of essential tools and processes related to development culture, including DevOps, Artifactory, Git/Bitbucket, etc.
  • Ability to create and use Artifactory and Bitbucket credentials.

  • Understanding of the APX architecture.
  • Understanding of the main components of the APX architecture.
  • Understanding of the two APX architecture approaches: APX Online and APX Batch.
  • Installation and configuration of APX CLI.
  • Knowledge and use of APX CLI for creating APX components.
  • Installation and configuration of the local environment for APX component development and deployment.
  • Configuration of the technology stack used in APX development.
  • Maven configuration.
  • Eclipse configuration.
  • Initialization of the APX Online local environment.
  • Visualization and use of the Felix Online and APX Operation consoles.
  • Understanding of the APX project structure.
  • Understanding of SEMaaS and Atenea.

How the Knowledge and Skills Will Be Applied

Upon completing the course, participants will be able to apply the acquired knowledge and skills through:

  • Use of development tools that support an Agile development workflow, including Bitbucket, Artifactory, and Atenea.
  • Use of local development and deployment environments for APX components.

Participants will be assessed on the following:

  • Knowledge of the APX architecture components.
  • Understanding of use cases for both APX architecture approaches (APX Online and APX Batch).
  • Knowledge of the general characteristics of APX local development and deployment environments.
  • Identification of the DevOps tools involved in APX development.
