Position Status: Salary Exempt

About DMG:

Divisions Maintenance Group provides facility maintenance services to retail chains and distribution and fulfillment centers across the country.

We are leading the way with our technology, creating world-class products that are revolutionizing the industry and fulfilling our brand promise of “Uninterrupted Peace of Mind.”

DMG is a Certified Great Place to Work with a strong, inclusive culture and top-notch benefits.

Job Summary:

DMG Design is a growing team of curious problem solvers on a mission to improve the way the world works. We’re early enough in that journey that the people we hire now will define what our design practice becomes. Principal Product Designers set the direction, raise the bar, and shape design strategy across a product pillar, while staying in the work. If you’ve done career-defining 0-to-1 work and want to do it again, this is that opportunity.

What You'll Do:

This is an individual contributor role. You’ll operate strategically but you’re expected to be in the work, designing, iterating, and producing high-quality artifacts alongside the team.

  • Set design strategy for a product pillar in partnership with senior product and engineering leadership, translating business goals and user needs into a multi-quarter vision.
  • Own experiences end-to-end, from 0-to-1 problem framing through post-launch iteration, for DMG’s diverse users: retailers, service providers and technicians, and internal sales teams.
  • Tell the story behind the work. Articulate design vision and rationale through compelling narrative to cross-functional partners and senior leadership.
  • Raise the craft. Set the quality standard for the team. Contribute to and evolve DMG’s Design System at scale.
  • Bring AI into your practice and our products. Use AI to accelerate your own workflow, help build AI-powered tooling that enables teammates to generate on-brand mocks using our Design System, and design AI-native features that make our products smarter for our users.
  • Mentor and multiply. Invest in the growth of designers around you. Coach on craft, process, and model what great looks like.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

What You Need:

  • Significant product design experience at product-led companies, with clear progression in scope and responsibility.
  • Demonstrated 0-to-1 ownership of a product area or pillar, with measurable impact across different user types.
  • Experience shaping design strategy alongside product management and engineering, not just executing it.
  • Portfolio showing strong end-to-end thinking: problem framing, research, high-fidelity execution, and post-launch iteration.
  • Proven ability to drive through ambiguity independently and bring structure where none exists.
  • Strong cross-functional influence and a track record of mentoring designers with measurable impact on their growth.
  • Proficiency in Figma; familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/React.
  • Ability to manage the stress of a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet the in-person requirements of the team and/or business needs.

What You'll Get:

At DMG, you’ll be part of an amazing team that encourages learning, growth, and advancement. Our company has an entrepreneurial spirit that rewards self-starters and encourages employees to take charge of their own careers.

Some of our many benefits include:

  • Health, dental and vision coverage on day 1.
  • Dollar-for-dollar 401K match up to 4% of salary with immediate 100% vesting.
  • Paid Primary and Secondary Caregiver leave.
  • Employee Assistance Program to assist with everyday challenges.
  • Paid time off to volunteer.
