About the Role

The mission of ANZ's Secure Internet Services Squad is to deliver secure, resilient, and reliable internet access services that protect the bank while enabling our people and customers to connect safely and confidently in an increasingly digital environment.

As a Senior Security Engineer within Secure Internet Services, you will be recognized as a trusted SME for internet security and access platforms, providing expert guidance on the design, operation, and continuous improvement of critical enterprise services. You will leverage your expertise across networking, infrastructure, cloud, automation, and security domains to solve complex problems, improve platform resilience, and support strategic initiatives across ANZ.

You will contribute to engineering excellence by mentoring colleagues, promoting best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reliability, security, and operational efficiency. Through collaboration and influence, you will help shape technical outcomes and ensure Secure Internet Services remains a trusted, scalable, and secure platform for the organization.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Proven experience in Infrastructure, Network, Platform, Cloud, or Security Engineering within enterprise environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Internet Security technologies, including Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Security Service Edge (SSE), Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), Browser Isolation, or similar platforms.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, proxies, and TLS/SSL technologies.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or GCP, including cloud networking, security, and platform services.
  • Experience with automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, Terraform, or related DevOps practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive service improvements.
  • Experience supporting production environments, including incident, problem, change, and risk management processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, Engineering, and Vendor teams.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on operational excellence, automation, service reliability, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience mentoring engineers, developing technical documentation, sharing knowledge, and contributing as a trusted Subject Matter Expert within your domain.
