Draslovka is a global chemistry company with more than a century of experience in CN-based technologies, operating across six continents. Through Encore Minerals, Draslovka is developing the Windarra Tailings Project near Laverton, Western Australia, reprocessing gold and potentially nickel tailings using its proprietary Glycine Leaching Technology, GlyCat™ and GlyLeach™.
The Role
We are seeking a General Manager – Operations to lead the Windarra Tailings Project through its transition from construction and commissioning into safe, sustainable and profitable commercial operations. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role holds full accountability for the project's profit and loss performance and will establish the leadership team, operating systems and culture that underpin its long-term success. Based in Perth, with regular site travel once operations commence.
What You'll Do
- Lead operational readiness activities and drive the transition from project delivery to owner-managed production
- Champion a zero-harm safety culture and ensure compliance with Western Australian mining health and safety legislation
- Provide operational leadership through commissioning and ramp-up, delivering throughput, recovery and reliability targets
- Oversee tailings reclamation and processing using Draslovka's Glycine Leaching Technology, maximising recovery and value
- Establish a best-practice asset management framework and maintenance strategy to achieve target reliability and availability
- Build strong, transparent relationships with regulators, communities, Traditional Owners and industry stakeholders
- Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets, delivering performance within approved cost targets
What You'll Bring
- Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mining Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 15 years' experience in mining or mineral processing, including senior leadership at General Manager or equivalent level
- Proven experience establishing operational systems and teams for new operations, including commissioning, start-up and ramp-up
- Strong working knowledge of Western Australian mining safety and environmental legislation
- Experience leading greenfield mining or processing projects into production; gold processing or tailings retreatment experience highly valued
- WA statutory/registered mine manager competencies, CPEng registration or AusIMM membership desirable
