As a Senior Software Engineer, Network Management you will play a key role in shaping the architecture and evolution of Network Management solutions for mission-critical defense communication networks. In addition to hands-on software development, you will provide technical leadership, drive design and implementation decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate across teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions for demanding operational environments.

Our solutions combine advanced networking, software platforms, cloud-native technologies, and next-generation communications systems to support demanding operational environments. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of Network Management software for Nokia Defense solutions.
  • Drive software architecture, technical design discussions, and key implementation decisions.
  • Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable software using modern engineering practices and AI-assisted development tools.
  • Mentor and support other engineers through technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
  • Analyze and resolve complex software, networking, and system-level issues.
  • Collaborate with architects, system engineers, product stakeholders, and integration teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, DevOps practices, and engineering best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Nokia quality, security, and defense requirements.

Qualifications

Must-have:

  • BSc. or MSc. degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, or Software Engineering
  • Solid experience in software development using C++, Java, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with telecommunications systems, IP networking, Network Management platforms, or mission-critical communications.
  • Experience working in Linux-based development environments.
  • Ability to guide technical work and collaborate on technical direction.
  • Experience with Network Management Systems (NMS), OSS solutions, or telecommunications management applications.
  • Interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and techniques.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving capabilities and effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Valid personal identification document from a NATO-member country.

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of 5G, Core Networks, tactical communications, or mission-critical networking solutions.
  • Experience with cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, containers, and microservice architectures.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and secure software development.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.
  • Experience working in agile development environments.

Please note that the candidate needs to pass/have a valid Finnish security clearance check. Additionally, this role is based in Finland and we are not offering international relocation option for this position.
