Career Suitable for someone with circa 2yrs experience of management information or reporting (you may have carried this out as part of another role. You have aanalytical mind and a bias towards high quality execution. This is not a regular Business Information Analyst position, we expect you to get behind the data and understand the business and the levers of success to enable you to deliver much better insights to keep us going. You will also get involved in various ad-hoc projects ranging from assessing the commercial viability of the deployment of tech solutions, conducting ad-hoc financial reporting, or project managing reviews of business performance.

You will have an excellent manager to guide you (they are located in the UK).

About the role

The Business Information Analyst (BIA) works closely for the business management of the investments side of our firm providing analytical support and insights. You will be expected to not only write reports, but work with the business to ensure key data flows are coming through, support governance reporting, and take on ad-hoc projects which may be varied in nature.

The BIA will need to be hands on, commercial, and have an avid interest in using technology to improve their own ability to manage workflows and business insights. Ultimately this is about analytical and commercial support to our investment and portfolio management teams.

In supporting key senior stakeholders this role offers strong exposure to someone who is willing to role their sleeves up and deliver and is a great entry point into a career within investments, portfolio management or strategic business management.

Accountabilities

  • Partner with Finance to identify opportunities to improve profitability and monitor activities affecting revenue and margin performance.
  • Monitor third-party supplier fees, contractual arrangements and commercial agreements with investment partners and outsourced providers.
  • Maintain commercial tracking information, including cost-to-serve analysis and related metrics.
  • Produce analysis and business insights to support strategic decision making across investment and portfolio management teams, including acquisition analysis, business development initiatives, pitch support and ad hoc commercial projects.
  • Coordinate and prepare Board, Committee, and Management reports for portfolio management and investments departments.
  • Produce and maintain robust management information across the investments business to support commercial oversight and decision making.
  • Design and implement enhancements to reporting, information gathering and operational workflows with the use of smart automation or AI.
  • Take on ad-hoc projects, including evaluation of the use of emerging technologies and practical applications to support improve business effectiveness.
  • Support wider business activities where analytical, organisational or project-related expertise improves outcomes

Skills and Experience

  • Degree-level education or equivalent professional capability.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence and data visualisation tools (we use Domo).
  • Previously used AI in a workplace setting to improve workflow management or reporting.
  • Experience producing management reports, with strong Excel and analytical capabilities.
  • At least 1 year's exposure in either finance, management consulting, or financial services.
  • Active interest in investments and markets.
  • Demonstrable interest in emerging technology, in particular how AI can make the processing of information easier.
  • Comfort communicating with senior stakeholders and maintaining discretion.
  • A desire to pay your dues and become an essential part of a high performing team.
