Full description

The Support Engineer – Database Analyst plays a key role in the production support team by analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving database and application issues. The role involves monitoring database health, investigating incidents, performing data corrections, supporting batch jobs, optimizing SQL queries, conducting root cause analysis, and ensuring application availability. The engineer collaborates with development, infrastructure, and business teams to maintain operational excellence and support continuous improvement initiatives. Kindly note the rotational shift period for this project is 05:00 AM IST to 05:30 PM IST

Responsibilities

Provide L2 production support for database and application-related incidents. Analyze and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database jobs. Perform data validation, data corrections, and data integrity checks. Monitor database performance and identify optimization opportunities. Support batch job execution, monitoring, recovery, and issue resolution. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions. Investigate application and integration issues using logs and database analysis. Support production deployments, releases, and database change activities. Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles. Ensure SLA compliance and provide timely updates on incident resolution.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 4+ years of experience in application support or database support roles. Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, and troubleshooting. Experience supporting production applications in an enterprise environment. Knowledge of incident management, problem management, and ITIL processes. Experience with batch processing, data analysis, and application monitoring tools. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Exposure to AWS-hosted applications and cloud-based databases is desirable. Ability to work in a fast-paced support environment and participate in on-call rotations.
