Full description

The EU AMXL Finance team is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to own the financial strategy and controllership across our Inbound and Middle Mile network. Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) manages the end-to-end fulfillment of heavy and bulky products — a strategic, high-growth segment for Amazon in Europe, operating across multiple countries with diverse operational and legal frameworks.

This is a senior individual contributor role for a finance leader who can operate with a high degree of autonomy, influence senior stakeholders, and shape decisions that affect the long-term economics of the EU AMXL network. The successful candidate will own financial planning and controllership for their area end-to-end, partner directly with Director-level operations and network leaders, and drive strategic analyses that inform multi-year network topology, rate, and investment decisions. They will be expected to challenge assumptions with data, build mechanisms that scale, and bring clarity to ambiguous, complex problems.

Key job responsibilities Strategic Finance & Decision Support:

-Own the financial plan (OP1/OP2/QxG) and long-range outlook for your area, independently building models and scenarios that inform network strategy.

-Lead high-impact analyses (e.g., network topology, rate setting, cost-to-serve, business cases) and present recommendations directly to senior leadership.

-Challenge operational and business partner assumptions with data, providing disruptive ideas where the numbers warrant it.

Business Partnering & Influence:

-Act as the trusted finance partner to Director-level operations, planning, and network leaders, influencing strategic decisions without direct authority.

-Navigate across organizations (e.g., Network, Transportation, Supply Chain, Accounting, Procurement) to align stakeholders and drive outcomes.

-Translate complex financial trade-offs into clear narratives for both Finance and non-Finance senior audiences.

Controllership & Operational Excellence:

-Own financial reporting integrity for your area (month-end close, variance analysis, cost controls), routinely delivering error-free outputs.

-Proactively identify control gaps and risks driven by business, regulatory, or operational change, and design solutions.

-Invent and institutionalize mechanisms (dashboards, automated reporting, planning tools) that scale across the team and network.

Leadership & Force Multiplication:

-Mentor and coach junior analysts, raising the bar on analytical rigor across the team.

-Contribute to the broader Finance community through best-practice sharing, hiring, and development initiatives.

-Identify and drive process improvements that remove bottlenecks and improve decision-making speed across the org.

A day in the life No two days look the same in AMXL Finance. You might start the morning partnering with an operations leader to pressure-test a network change, spend mid-morning deep in a cost-to-serve model that will shape next year's topology, then present your findings to senior leadership in the afternoon. You'll move fluidly between the detail (validating a cost driver, reconciling a variance) and the big picture (where should we invest, what's the long-term economic story). You'll be the financial voice in the room — challenging assumptions, surfacing risks early, and helping the business make smarter, faster decisions. Expect autonomy, real ownership, and the space to build mechanisms that outlast any single planning cycle.
