The Project Engineering Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing multidisciplinary engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements. The Project Engineering Manager serves as the primary engineering interface between clients, project teams, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop project execution plans, defining scope, deliverables, resources, schedules, budgets, and project baselines.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, including Process, Mechanical, Piping, Civil/Structural, Electrical, and Instrumentation & Control disciplines.
- Monitor project progress, engineering performance, costs, man-hours, and key performance indicators.
- Identify and manage technical, schedule, cost, and execution risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety regulations, quality requirements, and company procedures.
- Lead engineering reviews, manage project changes, technical queries, and document control processes.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment throughout project execution.
- Prepare Scope of Work (SoW), Scope of Facilities (SoF), execution strategies, schedules, man-hour estimates, and technical/commercial proposals to support business development activities
Basic Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Project Engineering Manager, Engineering Manager, Lead Engineer, or other related engineering/project leadership position
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary engineering projects, preferably within EPC/EPCM environments.
- Strong understanding of project execution, project controls, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, construction, and commissioning processes.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Power BI.
- Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
- Availability and willingness to travel regularly.
