Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a dynamic Financial Analyst to join our high-performing finance team in Charlotte, NC. This role is designed for a tech-savvy professional who thrives on data analytics, financial modeling, and strategic insight. You will play a critical role in supporting decision-making, enhancing reporting capabilities, and driving financial performance across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Modeling & Forecasting: Build and maintain advanced financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning across P&L, working capital, backlog, and other KPIs.
  • Data Analytics & Visualization: Leverage tools like Power BI, Excel, CoPilot, and our ERP system (BST) to create dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insights to leadership and operational teams.
  • Performance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and synthesize drivers of financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Strategic Support: Partner with the Director of Finance, CFO and senior leaders to prepare executive-level presentations, business reviews, and shareholder materials that explain the “why” behind financial outcomes.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to initiatives that streamline workflows, enhance data governance, and improve the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • M&A & Due Diligence: Support acquisition analysis, integration planning, and ROI scenario development as part of the company’s growth strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in a data-driven or tech-enabled environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, CoPilot, and ERP systems (e.g., BST, Deltek, SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and forecasting techniques.
  • Excellent organization skills & ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables effectively and deliver results on time.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex data into clear insights, tailored to the audience.
  • Experience with financial systems implementation or enhancement is a plus (e.g., OneStream, TM1, Hyperion Planning, Blackline, etc).
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
