Role Overview
Pivot Point Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead complex technology initiatives with an emphasis on Consumer Privacy and Cookie Compliance. This role will manage multiple concurrent projects and coordinate across IT, business, privacy, compliance, vendors, and other stakeholders to deliver initiatives within established scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience managing complex enterprise IT projects and direct experience delivering consumer privacy or cookie compliance initiatives. This position requires strong project governance, financial management, risk management, executive communication, and cross-functional leadership skills in a structured enterprise environment.
Your Day-to-Day Activities
• Lead one or more concurrent, complex IT projects from initiation through implementation and closeout.
• Manage consumer privacy and cookie compliance technology initiatives involving cross-functional business, IT, privacy, compliance, and vendor teams.
• Define project requirements, objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines, resources, and success criteria.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, work plans, milestones, dependencies, and delivery forecasts.
• Establish project teams and clearly communicate responsibilities, expectations, and accountability.
• Lead project kickoff meetings and ongoing stakeholder and project-team discussions.
• Track and manage project risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, changes, and action items.
• Develop mitigation strategies and drive resolution of schedule, scope, resource, and delivery challenges.
• Manage project budgets and accurately forecast resource, material, vendor, and contract costs.
• Monitor project performance against established cost, schedule, scope, and quality objectives.
• Develop project metrics and reporting to provide visibility into progress, risks, and overall project health.
• Communicate project status, recommendations, risks, and escalations to sponsors, stakeholders, and management.
• Coordinate professional services, vendors, contracts, and project-related procurement activities.
• Build productive working relationships with project sponsors, business partners, vendors, and technical teams.
• Lead project management analysts, schedulers, and other supporting project resources as needed.
• Mentor and provide project management guidance to developing team members.
• Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Prepare project records and documentation for closure, retention, compliance, and potential audit activities.
• Support a structured PMO environment and follow established project management standards and methodologies.
The Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of experience managing complex enterprise IT projects, software implementations, or technology delivery initiatives.
• Direct project management experience involving Consumer Privacy and/or Cookie Compliance initiatives.
• Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects or complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience managing project scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and change.
• Strong experience developing and maintaining detailed project schedules and work plans.
• Experience managing project budgets and developing cost and resource forecasts.
• Experience working with IT professional services agreements, vendors, contracts, and external resources.
• Strong understanding of enterprise IT organizations, roles, delivery processes, and governance.
• Experience leading teams within a matrixed organizational environment.
• Strong risk management, negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholder groups.
• Ability to independently manage complex projects while providing direction to supporting project resources.
• Must be able to work onsite in Oakland at least one day per week, with additional onsite attendance based on business needs.
You'll Stand Out If You Have
• Experience delivering enterprise consumer privacy programs involving cookie consent, tracking technologies, consent management, or digital privacy compliance.
• Experience supporting privacy initiatives involving CCPA/CPRA or other applicable consumer privacy requirements.
• Experience implementing or integrating Consent Management Platforms (CMPs) or related privacy technologies.
• Experience working within a mature enterprise IT PMO.
• Experience leading projects with budgets ranging from approximately $100K to $10M.
• Advanced knowledge of project financial management, resource planning, and vendor management.
• Experience with enterprise Project Portfolio Management (PPM) platforms.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.
• Additional formal project or program management training or certification.
