Position Summary:
Responsible for enabling enterprise data discovery, insight generation, and business decision support through the use of modern cloud-based analytics platforms, AI-assisted technologies, and scalable business intelligence solutions. Leverages Databricks, Power BI, semantic models, and emerging generative AI capabilities to transform complex data into actionable business intelligence. Partners closely with business stakeholders to identify opportunities, answer strategic questions, uncover trends, and accelerate decision-making through a combination of self-service analytics, prompt-based data exploration, executive dashboards, and analytical reporting solutions. Applies advanced data visualization, dashboard design, and data storytelling techniques to create decision-support experiences that highlight business priorities, surface actionable insights, and guide executive focus toward key opportunities and risks. Helps create a best-in-class data platform through the use and deployment of scalable business intelligence technologies and cloud-based data services. Partners with the business to identify strategic opportunities where improvements in data infrastructure create outsized business impacts.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and applies expertise in business analysis to transform complex data into actionable business insights and recommendations.
- Leverages cloud-based analytics platforms, including Databricks and Microsoft data technologies, to explore, validate, analyze, and interpret large and complex datasets.
- Utilizes AI-assisted analytics and prompt-based data discovery capabilities, including Microsoft Power BI Copilot and related technologies, to accelerate insight generation, business understanding, and self-service analytics adoption.
- Partners with business stakeholders to identify analytical opportunities, formulate business questions, and translate organizational objectives into scalable analytical and reporting solutions.
- Performs data exploration, trend analysis, root cause analysis, forecasting, and hypothesis-driven investigations to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Designs and develops Power BI semantic models, dashboards, scorecards, and executive reporting solutions that enable business users to monitor performance and make informed decisions.
- Applies advanced data visualization, UX/UI, accessibility, and dashboard design best practices to ensure analytical solutions effectively communicate business outcomes and areas requiring attention.
- Create dashboards and analytical experiences that tell a clear business story, emphasize key performance indicators, identify risks and opportunities, and supports executive and operational decision making.
- Determines the most appropriate delivery mechanism for business insights, including dashboards, scorecards, AI-generated narratives, prompt-based analytics, self-service reporting, or ad hoc analysis based on business needs, scalability, and cost considerations.
- Creates and delivers analytical narratives, executive summaries, and actionable recommendations derived from both traditional reporting and AI-assisted insight generation.
- Interfaces with technology teams to access, validate, and understand data from a wide variety of enterprise data sources.
- Continually improves reporting, analytics, and self-service capabilities through automation and process optimization.
- Evaluates emerging analytics, visualization, cloud, and AI technologies and develops proof-of-concept solutions to improve organizational reporting and decision-support capabilities.
- Participates in strategic and tactical planning discussions with members of Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, and business leadership teams.
- Provides support for ad hoc analysis and recurring reporting requirements.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, report development, data visualization, or related analytical disciplines.
- Financial services industry experience required. Mortgage industry experience preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise leveraging cloud-based data and analytics platforms, including Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, or comparable technologies.
- Experience performing enterprise data discovery, analytical research, data validation, and insight generation across large-scale datasets within cloud environments.
- Experience utilizing AI-assisted analytics platforms, Microsoft Power BI Copilot, natural language query capabilities, prompt-based data exploration tools, or similar generative AI technologies.
- Expert-level experience designing executive-facing dashboards, scorecards, and analytical solutions using Power BI.
- Demonstrated ability to apply advanced data visualization techniques, dashboard design standards, UX/UI principles, and data storytelling methodologies to drive business decision making.
- Experience determining the appropriate balance between self-service reporting, dashboarding, and AI-assisted analytics to meet business objectives efficiently and effectively.
- Strong understanding of semantic models, enterprise analytical architectures, cloud data ecosystems, and self-service business intelligence strategies.
- Strong SQL and relational database skills required.
- Experience with Python or other programming languages preferred.
- Ability to communicate complex technical and analytical concepts effectively to executive leadership and non-technical business stakeholders.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related discipline; equivalent combination of education, professional certifications, and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay for this role is between $99,000 and $136,500. Your base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors, including your job-related knowledge/skills, qualifications, experience, and market location.
