Shield HealthCare is looking for a Data Analyst in our Valencia, CA corporate office to support business operations through the development of advanced data driven models to collect, analyze, and report data into meaningful business reports to drive informed decision making and improve operational performance. This role utilizes software applications to create queries, analyze data sets, prepare reports and dashboards, and partners with internal teams to increase order review accuracy that will lead to an improvement of cash collection rates, write-offs and Accounts Receivable balance. This position requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, experience working with large data sets, and the ability to clearly communicate findings to business stakeholders.

This is an on-site position in Valencia, CA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain advanced models (Excel or other application) with complex formulas and business rules
  • Extract data utilizing queries from AS400 (or SQL) data management system
  • Partner with internal departments to continuously improve operational performance and models
  • Develop and prepare customized reports for both internal and external stakeholders, presenting findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Prepare management reports that highlight operational results and trends
  • Enhance order review accuracy to improve cash collection rate, reduce write-offs and Accounts Receivable balance
  • Assist in the implementation of new software application solutions as needed
  • Handle multiple priorities with aggressive deadlines and ensure appropriate follow-up and closure
  • Support in the creation and preparation of company dashboards
  • Complete special projects as assigned, supporting team and organizational objectives and continuous improvement initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Business, Finance, Computer Science or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, and working with large data sets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel (Expert), Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, multi-layer IF statements, lookup formulas, VBA a plus
  • Experience writing queries in AS400/SQL or similar
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain accountability
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong organizational skills, with extreme attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, respond to changing business needs, and meet critical deadlines

The posted range for this position is $70-90k annually which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay withing the posted range including education, prior experience, training, current skills, certifications, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.
