About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer (Data Science Focus), you’ll partner with product and engineering in shaping the strategy for Atlas. You will own our underwriting from both an engineering and data perspective for our credit products.

This is a hybrid role (2 days/week) based in San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Atlas’ underwriting processes
  • Applying expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how Atlas users interact with our products
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities
  • Design, plan, execute and analyze experiments to evaluate the impact of product changes.
  • Mentor others as needed to uplift the team’s capacity, and to democratize data knowledge and data insights within the company.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional Data Science / Software engineering experience with a strong technological aptitude
  • Ownership mindset with a focus on fast-paced, impactful work
  • Proven to effectively collaborate across variety of technical and non-technical functions to drive towards common product goals
  • Proficiency in quantitative analysis geared towards drawing actionable insights from complex datasets
  • Experience with data querying languages and scripting languages (e.g. Python)
  • Previous experience mentoring, such as new-hire buddies, interns, or technical leads.
  • Interest in contributing to the company's growth beyond daily responsibilities.
