Overview
Publicis Sapient is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to help build, automate, and operate secure, scalable cloud infrastructure supporting a large U.S. retail platform.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role for an experienced infrastructure professional with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Kubernetes, cloud networking, security, and CI/CD automation. You will partner closely with engineering teams, architects, and senior stakeholders to enable reliable production deployments, resolve infrastructure dependencies, and continuously improve the platform while operating within strict retail security and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
Your Impact
Cloud Infrastructure & Automation
- Design, implement, and support scalable and secure Azure cloud infrastructure for enterprise applications.
- Build consistent, repeatable environments using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Deploy and manage containerized workloads using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Develop and maintain automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
- Manage Azure platform services including Azure Storage, Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, and Azure Key Vault.
- Drive cloud modernization initiatives and infrastructure best practices across the platform.
Security, Networking & Platform Services
- Implement secure cloud environments using Azure Key Vault, Network Security Groups (NSGs), Private Endpoints, and secure access patterns.
- Design and support Azure networking components, including DNS, Virtual Networks, subnetting, connectivity, and Private Link services.
- Manage and secure application connectivity across distributed cloud environments.
- Support API integrations and platform services used by enterprise-scale applications.
- Implement cloud security controls and ensure compliance with healthcare security and privacy requirements.
- Collaborate with security and architecture teams to maintain highly secure production environments.
CI/CD & Production Delivery
- Build and maintain deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps and modern CI/CD practices.
- Automate infrastructure, application, and platform deployments across multiple environments.
- Support end-to-end production release processes, ensuring environments are secure, reliable, and deployment-ready.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and platform issues, driving rapid resolution of blockers and dependencies.
- Implement monitoring, operational excellence, and deployment governance practices.
Collaboration & Technical Ownership
- Partner with developers, architects, platform teams, and senior stakeholders to align infrastructure solutions with business objectives.
- Communicate technical risks, dependencies, and infrastructure readiness to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, security, scalability, and automation.
- Participate in infrastructure design discussions and support architecture decision-making.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related roles.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in enterprise environments.
- Strong experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline implementation and deployment automation.
- Hands-on expertise with:
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Azure Key Vault
- Azure Storage Accounts
- Azure Functions
- Cosmos DB
- Azure Networking (DNS, Virtual Networks, Private Endpoints, Private Link)
- Advanced experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security architecture, identity, and access management.
- Experience deploying and managing containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within large-scale cloud environments.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive technical issues to resolution.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with engineering teams, architects, and business stakeholders.
Set Yourself Apart With
- Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, or AZ-500.
- Experience with Cloudflare, Redis Cache, API Management, or API Gateway technologies.
- Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical production platforms at enterprise scale.
- Exposure to monitoring and observability platforms such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Grafana, or Prometheus.
- Experience partnering directly with solution architects on cloud infrastructure strategy and platform modernization initiatives.

**This is a contractor role that goes until December 31st, with the possibility of extension or conversion to Full- time**
