Your Team & Role 

As a Senior Network & Cloud Engineer in GT&O, you will partner with product owners, tech leads, designers, software engineers and delivery professionals to improve the cloud platform and network infrastructure experience. You will design, plan, administer, develop, or maintain applications and network services in cloud-based environments as we solve sophisticated business problems, deploy innovative products, services, and experiences to delight our customers. This includes hands-on ownership of AWS Transit Gateways, AWS Cloud WAN, Direct Connect (DX) connectivity, and hybrid cloud routing, working closely with the Core Network team on DX implementations, circuit changes, and ongoing updates. In addition to applied experience, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership attitude and a continuous learning focus to all that you do. 

  

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day   

  • Design, configure and troubleshoot AWS Transit Gateway attachments, route tables and peering connections; manage Cloud WAN core network policies, segments, and attachment associations across multi-region deployments 
  • Collaborate with the Core Network team on DX implementations, circuit provisioning, configuration changes, and fault resolution, acting as the cloud-side owner throughout the engagement 
  • Deliver computing and network infrastructure services in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Design and support hybrid connectivity solutions including AWS Transit Gateways, AWS Cloud WAN core networks, and Direct Connect (DX) circuits. Actively develop automation against the roadmap. 
  • Apply deep networking fundamentals including BGP, TCP/IP, OSI model, and routing protocols; hands-on experience with AWS Transit Gateway route tables, Cloud WAN segments and policies, and Direct Connect virtual interfaces (VIFs) and route propagation 
  • Design and support hybrid DNS architectures spanning on-premises and cloud environments 
  • Configure and manage AWS Route 53 Resolver inbound/outbound endpoints, forwarding rules, and DNS firewall policies to enable seamless name resolution across VPCs, Transit Gateway, and corporate data centers 
  • Collaborate with product owners in understanding needs and defining feature stories, tech leads in defining technical design and other team members to understand the system end-to-end and deliver robust solutions that bring about business impact and support the goals 
  • Engage with stakeholders across engineering, architecture, and business teams to assess business needs and deliver technical designs that align with security, compliance, and operational standards 
  • Develop corporate platform standards based on cost, capability and capacity requirements to drive business value; document solutions to support the adoption of developed solutions  
  • Bring an applied understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, begin to see opportunities to provide input to the team and coach others, and embed learning and innovation in the day-to-day   
  • Work on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors 
  • Use programming languages including but not limited to Python, Shell/Power scripting, Groovy, Modern languages and Ansible, CloudFormation and Terraform frameworks  

Deep understanding of networking fundamentals: BGP, TCP/IP, OSI model, routing protocols, and firewall/ACL concepts 

  • Programming experience (Python, shell scripting, Groovy, or similar modern languages) 
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices (automation, CI/CD pipelines) 
  • Hands-on experience with AWS networking services: Transit Gateway, Cloud WAN, Direct Connect (DX), VPC routing, and hybrid connectivity patterns 
  • Familiarity with BGP route policies, AS path manipulation, and multi-region/multi-account network architectures 
  • Knowledge of hybrid DNS design: AWS Route 53 Resolver endpoints and forwarding rules, split-horizon DNS, and name resolution across multi-account and on-premises environments 
  • Experience with Azure or GCP equivalent networking services (ExpressRoute, VNet peering, NCC) is a plus 
  • Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems 
  • Ability to learn new technologies and solve problems independently 
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills 
  • Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and coding standards 
  • Commitment to quality, including basic testing principles and automation 

 

Bonus/Preferred: 

  • Cloud or network related certification (a plus, not a must) 
  • Experience in financial/insurance industry (a plus)

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $104,000.00 to $171,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.• Market competitive base salaries, with a yearly bonus potential at every level.
