Full description

This role is responsible to lead the successful delivery of a strategic high-priority project that supports the organisations objectives and delivers the required outcomes. Following successful implementation, the role will evolve to manage a portfolio of strategic, operational and transformation initiatives, providing governance, oversight and leadership across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of high-profile, business-critical projects and transformation initiatives, ensuring successful outcomes from concept through to implementation.
  • Establish and govern comprehensive project plans, budgets, timelines, and resource strategies to drive effective execution and accountability.
  • Ensure the realisation of targeted business benefits, strategic objectives, and measurable value through disciplined project delivery.
  • Provide robust oversight of project performance, proactively managing risks, issues, dependencies, and change impacts to safeguard delivery commitments.
  • Champion the application of project governance frameworks, methodologies, and best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.
  • Deliver clear, insightful executive reporting and strategic updates, enabling informed decision-making at senior leadership level.
  • Direct and coordinate cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and the timely resolution of complex challenges.
  • Build and influence strong relationships with senior management, key stakeholders, and delivery partners to secure alignment and drive successful outcomes.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and governance activities, facilitating effective decision-making and consensus across diverse business groups.

Qualifications

Knowledge & Qualification

  • Degree Qualified in Business, Project Management or relevant discipline
  • Relevant project management certification preferred (PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, AgilePM, MSP, or equivalent).

Experience

  • At least 8 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).
  • Proven experience in governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in process change projects
  • Experience managing project budgets, resources, and benefits realisation.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in complex organisational environments.

Skills

  • Experience with project management tools i.e. MS Project
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-starter who can work independently
  • Excellent communication and reporting abilities
  • Experience working within a PMO, Business Management, or Transformation Office.
  • Excellent presentation skills
