Overview
As an embedded software engineer, you will be responsible for designing, validating and delivering embedded software within Cambridge Aerospace. We are looking for exceptional embedded software engineers with experience working with high performance engines, motors and pumps and offer the opportunity to work on a variety of embedded projects, from flight controllers, jet engines through to radar processing. We are a fast growing scale-up and therefore give our engineers the flexibility to provide input and expertise across projects, and encourage a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
Responsibilities
- Identify and define the architecture of embedded software in conjunction with the wider engineering team
- Build high-performance, deterministic and well-tested embedded systems with a view to accreditation
- Scope and expand our CI and automated testing and release infrastructure
- Contribute to technical decision-making, code reviews and engineering best practise across the embedded software stack
Requirements
- Excellent embedded C / C++ / Rust skills
- Strong understanding of CAN / CAN-FD, PWM, SPI, I2C, UART
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork capabilities
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving startup environment
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Experience developing or testing engine control units (ECUs)
- Experience with bare-metal, RTOS (ie NuttX, ThreadX, RTIC, Zephyr, FreeRTOS, VxWorks, INTEGRITY), and embedded Linux
- Experience with STM32, Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale+, etc
