ROLE OVERVIEW
The DevOps Automation Engineer is responsible for enabling reliable, scalable, and efficient technology delivery by designing and maintaining automation, infrastructure, and operational practices that support software development and production environments. The role contributes to operational excellence by improving deployment consistency, infrastructure reliability, system observability, and platform performance while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across engineering teams.
This position works closely with development, QA, security, and operational stakeholders to streamline software delivery processes, strengthen infrastructure resilience, and support cloud-native solutions. The successful candidate will help drive automation strategies, optimize cloud environments, and enhance system availability through proactive monitoring, incident response, and infrastructure management.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
DevOps Automation & Delivery
- Design and maintain automated deployment pipelines to improve software delivery speed, consistency, and reliability
- Implement DevOps best practices to support continuous integration, continuous delivery, and operational efficiency
- Optimize deployment processes to reduce manual effort and improve release success rates
Cloud Infrastructure Management
- Architect and manage cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, performance, and cost efficiency
- Provision and maintain infrastructure resources to support business and application requirements
- Evaluate and improve infrastructure configurations to enhance operational stability
Container Platform Administration
- Deploy, manage, and scale containerized workloads to support highly available application environments
- Maintain platform health and reliability through proactive capacity planning and troubleshooting activities
- Implement resilient deployment strategies to minimize service disruptions
Infrastructure as Code & Platform Engineering
- Develop and maintain infrastructure automation frameworks to improve environment consistency and governance
- Standardize provisioning and configuration processes to support operational efficiency and repeatability
- Support adoption of modern platform engineering practices and cloud-native infrastructure management
Monitoring, Reliability & Incident Management
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to improve system visibility and operational responsiveness
- Investigate and resolve infrastructure and application performance issues to maintain service reliability
- Develop and validate disaster recovery, backup, and incident response procedures to support business continuity
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with development, QA, and security teams to integrate operational requirements into delivery processes
- Provide technical guidance and operational support to improve platform adoption and engineering productivity
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance system performance and team effectiveness

QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Qualification/s
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
Preferred:
- Relevant certifications in AWS, Kubernetes, DevOps, Cloud, or Infrastructure Automation
- Additional technical certifications related to cloud infrastructure and platform engineering
Professional Qualification/s
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on DevOps engineering experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing AWS cloud environments
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with Kubernetes in production environments
- Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code practices
- Exposure to cloud-native operations, platform engineering, and site reliability methodologies
- Experience supporting monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational observability solutions
- Knowledge of Terraform, Crossplane, and New Relic is considered an advantage
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering, QA, security, and operations teams
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Work Conditions
Work Schedule:
- PH Time: Monday to Friday, 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM PHT (Golden Hours)
On-Call Requirements:
- Occasional overtime and on-call support may be required based on operational or project needs
