We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.

Digital Product Design (DPD) at Ford is committed to envisioning and creating simple, thoughtful, enjoyable, and compelling product experiences that our customers need and love. We work in close partnership with product and engineering to deliver best-in-class interactions experiences that meet the needs of people today, and in the future. Our team is comprised of a dynamic group of product designers, researchers, visual designers, industrial designers, modelers, and project managers.

As a UX Researcher and Data Analyst supporting the Customer Confidence Center of Excellence within Digital Product Design, you'll help the design team continuously improve features and user experiences through rigorous research and clear, actionable insights. You'll balance hands-on research execution with data analysis and reporting support for our Customer Experience Survey program — ultimately helping our product teams make evidence-based design decisions.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

Research Execution

  • Support and execute planning, conducting, moderating, and analyzing a variety of research activities — including usability studies, heuristic evaluations, concept testing, and usability benchmarking — to help the team deliver high-quality designs that satisfy and delight customers
  • Partner closely with design and product teams to understand research goals and plan activities accordingly
  • Analyze research findings and translate them into clear, digestible insights for internal partners and stakeholders

Voice of the Customer Program Support

  • Assist with supplier and internal program management, including program planning, survey timing roadmap, sample procurement, budget/administrative tasks, and managing an ad-hoc request log
  • Support ongoing customer and vehicle reporting, data dissemination, tracking performance to KPIs, competitive benchmarking, and deep-dive reporting and analysis
  • Investigate and help manage data pipelines and support data integration initiatives, including VOC dashboard updates and training
  • Improve data analysis process efficiency by documenting, standardizing, and formalizing processes, leveraging integrated data sources, and using LLM and other project management tools to reduce time spent on urgent requests

Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education/experience, in a research or quantitative field (data science, statistics, computer science, psychology, or related)
  • 1-3 years as a User Researcher, Human Factors specialist, VoC analyst, or CX Researcher, including on-site research or UX design coordination/project management
  • 1–3 years as a data analyst, with experience in data integration and process efficiency
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and communication tools
  • Experience using AI tools for secondary data analysis, unstructured customer feedback analysis, data presentation, and process automation
  • Working knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods (sampling, questionnaire design, fielding, data capture, reporting)
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis, including hypothesis testing, A/B comparisons, and time series analysis
  • Availability to travel up to 25%

Even better, you may have...

  • Degree in Engineering, Human Factors, UX, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, or related field
  • Technical acumen for setting up/troubleshooting functional prototypes
  • Experience with Agile processes (Jira)
  • Experience with design/research tools (Figma, Protopie, Dscout, Qualtrics, User Testing), SQL, advanced statistical modeling (regression, clustering, ML), and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel VBA, SAS, Looker Studio)
  • Experience with data wrangling (transformation, cleaning, validation) for analysis-ready datasets
  • Experience with R programming
  • Automotive industry experience

Skills

  • Present effectively to senior management and cross-functional teams
  • Comfortable with changing demands, early-stage vehicle programs, and emerging technologies
  • Self-starter who manages multiple tasks with minimal direction
  • Passion for UX and customer-centered design
  • Strong customer empathy and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
