Our growing team operates as an acceleration center supporting PwC Luxembourg’s clients. The role - Database Administrator
As a Database Administrator, you will ensure the availability, performance and reliability of our database and IT service environments and contribute to the operation and continuous improvement of our IT service delivery landscape. Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Administer, maintain, and optimize database platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Work closely with infrastructure, application, and development teams to ensure end-to-end service quality
- Participate in monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning activities using enterprise tools (e.g., Splunk)
- Contribute to automation, operational excellence, and cloud transformation initiatives
- Support incident resolution, root cause analysis, and proactive monitoring of critical services
- Assist with not only database-related topics but also broader infrastructure and service operations activities.
Your profile
- BSc or MSc in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- At least two years of professional experience in Database Administration
- Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with Linux/Windows environments and basic networking concepts
- Interest in expanding beyond pure DBA work into broader IT Service Delivery and Infrastructure topics
- Exposure to Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and monitoring tools (Splunk or similar) is an advantage
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and Portuguese.
