Overview

We are seeking a talented Freelance Graphic Designer to support our marketing and advertising efforts. This role focuses on creating high-quality visual assets for both digital and print channels, assistance with creating "official" brand guidelines & standards, with a key responsibility of developing and managing a print advertising schedule across approximately nine magazine publications. This is a one-year contract with the opportunity to renew. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, creative and experienced in producing polished designs that align with brand guidelines while meeting tight production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design a wide range of marketing materials, including print ads, digital graphics, social media assets, email headers, product line cards, promotional collateral.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director to create and maintain a comprehensive print ad schedule for approximately nine magazine publications, including:
  • Tracking insertion deadlines, material due dates, and publication dates
  • Coordinating ad sizes, formats, and specifications for each title
  • Managing revisions and final file delivery to publishers
  • Maintaining an organized calendar and status tracker for all scheduled placements
  • Prepare print-ready files that meet publisher specifications (bleed, trim, color profiles, resolution, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure creative consistency across campaigns.
  • Adapt existing creative for multiple formats and sizes as needed.
  • Incorporate brand guidelines, messaging, and product imagery accurately.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Provide design revisions based on feedback in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Required
  • Proven experience as a freelance or in-house graphic designer with a strong portfolio demonstrating print and digital work.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator required).
  • Experience designing print advertising and preparing press-ready files.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to build and manage production schedules.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to take direction and incorporate feedback efficiently.
  • Preferred
  • Experience working with magazine publishers and managing multi-title print ad campaigns.
  • Familiarity with luxury, home, kitchen & bath, or lifestyle brands.
  • Knowledge of current design trends in print and digital advertising

Engagement Details

  • Freelance / contract basis (project-based or ongoing retainer available)
  • Remote-friendly with occasional virtual check-ins
  • Flexible hours with the ability to meet fixed deadlines, and the ability to communicate on Mondays and Thursdays during regular business hours
  • Compensation based on experience and project scope
  • 1099 Independent Contractor - NOT an employee of SPLASH
