Job Summary

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Tampa Castings Engineering team and support the development, optimization, and execution of world-class aerospace manufacturing processes. This role provides leadership, direction, and coaching to a team of engineers, engineering technicians, and tooling specialists while ensuring business objectives are achieved through a strong focus on safety, quality, customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and employee development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading engineering activities for investment casting operations, driving technical excellence, supporting new product introduction and process improvement initiatives, and developing a high-performing team focused on innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of 12+ engineers, engineering technicians, and tooling specialists.

• Establish team objectives, performance metrics, and development plans to drive engagement and results.

• Guide engineering teams in establishing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes that ensure quality, efficiency, and repeatability.

• Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Evaluate new technologies, manufacturing methods, and process improvements using sound engineering principles.

• Partner with Production Control, Operations, Quality, Tooling, and Sales teams to support production schedules, budgets, and customer requirements.

• Lead engineering support for new product introduction (NPI) programs, utilizing tollgate processes to ensure successful implementation.

• Develop and execute qualification plans for internal manufacturing operations and external suppliers.

• Collaborate with Design Engineering to ensure products are designed for manufacturability and operational success.

• Support technology roadmaps and evaluate new product requirements, process capabilities, and manufacturing risks.

• Serve as a technical expert for complex manufacturing and supply chain challenges.

• Drive process improvements that increase yield, reduce rework, improve quality, and enhance overall operational performance.

• Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts and support strategic business initiatives.

• Interview, hire, train, coach, and evaluate team members while building a strong talent pipeline

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 5+ years of investment casting experience.

• Strong knowledge of Directionally Solidified (DS) and Single Crystal (SX) casting processes, shell parameters, and dimensional impacts.

• Proven leadership experience managing and developing technical teams.

• Demonstrated ability to motivate employees, build collaboration, and foster a solutions-oriented culture.

• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Experience working directly with customers and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

• CAD experience and the ability to use data analysis and statistical process control techniques to drive process improvements.

Nice to Have

• Aerospace manufacturing experience.

• Experience supporting turbine engine components or advanced casting technologies.

• Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent continuous improvement certification.

• Experience with supplier qualification and manufacturing process validation.

This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
