Job Description:
The Sr. Engineer, Network Operations provides technical expertise in the management of LAN/WAN networks. This role is responsible for the implementation, support, and evaluation of network infrastructure and leads efforts related to testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, and support to ensure the seamless and timely delivery of network services. The position requires close collaboration with the broader team and active participation in day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, adaptable, and willing to step in as needed to support operational priorities.
Additionally, the Sr. Engineer, Network Operations supports network-related activities associated with mergers and acquisitions (M&A), as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with network team members to ensure the smooth and reliable operation of network infrastructure, supporting business objectives and processes.
- Partner with team members and business stakeholders to define network requirements, support business goals, and resolve technical challenges.
- Implement and enhance network services and infrastructure to meet evolving business and operational needs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and processes; develop and implement strategies to improve or optimize them.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to network configurations, systems, services, and processes.
- Coordinate and execute in-depth testing, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
- Monitor and assess network performance; prepare and deliver performance statistics and reports.
- Support, maintain, and optimize the global Cisco ISE deployment.
- Support, maintain, and optimize the global Cisco SD-WAN deployment.
- Partner with subject matter experts to support and optimize global Palo Alto deployments, including on-premises firewalls and the Prisma Access SASE solution for mobile users and remote networks.
- Assist with daily operations by resolving incidents, fulfilling service requests, and providing technical guidance and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Support network-related integration, transition, and operational activities associated with mergers and acquisitions (M&A), as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Typically possesses a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and 5–10 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to plan and execute assigned projects and tasks effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Advanced knowledge of IT networking hardware, software, and their impact on business processes.
- Cisco CCNP certification is preferred; Palo Alto certification is a plus.
