At Nextiva, we're building the future of customer experience through thoughtful, AI-native product design. As a Senior Product Designer, you'll shape experiences across our Unified Customer Experience platform, partnering closely with Product and Engineering to solve complex customer problems through modern design, rapid prototyping, and intelligent AI-assisted workflows. This is more than a traditional design role. You'll help define product direction, challenge assumptions, and turn ideas into production-ready experiences across desktop and mobile. If you're energized by moving quickly, embracing new AI technologies, and designing products that make a measurable impact, you'll thrive here.
What You'll Do:
- Lead end-to-end product design from discovery through delivery across desktop, mobile, and responsive experiences.
- Partner with Product Managers and Engineers as a strategic thought partner, challenging assumptions, asking the right questions, and helping define the best solution instead of simply executing requirements.
- Engage directly with customers to understand their needs, ask thoughtful questions, gather feedback, and translate insights into product decisions and improved experiences.
- Create user flows, customer journeys, wireframes, interactive prototypes, high-fidelity designs, and production-ready experiences across desktop and mobile.
- Design across multiple product domains, including onboarding, e-commerce, AI-powered product capabilities, administration, customer conversations, and emerging platform initiatives as priorities evolve.
- Build functional, high-fidelity prototypes using AI-assisted development workflows to validate ideas with customers and stakeholders quickly, learn from feedback, and iterate toward the right solution.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering by reviewing AI-generated frontend implementations, refining production code, and helping bridge design and development.
- Drive consistency across products by evolving and contributing to Nextiva's design system, reusable components (A2UI), and design standards.
- Use customer research, analytics, experimentation, and usability testing to continuously improve product experiences and business outcomes.
- Communicate design thinking clearly and confidently, presenting concepts, facilitating customer and stakeholder conversations, and explaining the rationale, tradeoffs, and customer insights behind design decisions.
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple initiatives while adapting quickly as business priorities evolve.
- Leverage AI-powered design, research, and development tools responsibly to improve speed, quality, creativity, and execution.
- Explore emerging AI technologies and workflows, sharing best practices that improve team productivity and elevate design quality.
About You:
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience designing digital products, preferably within SaaS or enterprise software environments.
- Strong, current portfolio demonstrating exceptional product thinking, interaction design, visual design, accessibility, systems thinking, and measurable customer impact.
- Proven experience leading complex product initiatives from discovery through implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, solve ambiguous problems independently, challenge assumptions, and influence product direction rather than simply executing requirements.
- Experience designing production-ready experiences across desktop, mobile, and responsive environments.
- Experience building, maintaining, and evolving scalable design systems, reusable components, and component libraries.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design, information architecture, usability testing, experimentation, and data-informed design.
- Strong customer communication and discovery skills, with experience conducting customer conversations, asking effective questions, gathering feedback, and turning insights into actionable design decisions.
- Experience partnering closely with software engineers throughout implementation and delivery.
- Demonstrated proficiency using modern AI-powered design and development tools to accelerate design, prototyping, documentation, and frontend implementation.
- Working knowledge of modern design-to-code workflows, including AI-generated frontend development, Git-based collaboration, and component-based architecture.
- Technical fluency with HTML, CSS, modern frontend frameworks, and design systems sufficient to evaluate and refine AI-generated implementations.
- Experience building interactive prototypes that closely resemble production experiences and using them to gather feedback and validate solutions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate design decisions, tell a clear product story, and collaborate effectively with customers, Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders.
- Self-directed, highly adaptable, and comfortable moving between product areas and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Curiosity about emerging AI technologies and a continuous learning mindset, with a willingness to experiment, adapt, and share new approaches across the team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using AI-assisted development environments such as Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or similar AI-native workflows.
- Experience designing AI-powered product experiences, including conversational interfaces, copilots, intelligent assistants, or embedded AI workflows within SaaS applications.
- Experience contributing to React component libraries or collaborating on production-ready component implementations.
- Experience creating personal or side projects that demonstrate modern product design, coding, or AI experimentation.
- Experience conducting A/B testing and using experimentation to improve customer experiences.
