Job Description

The Application and Cyber Security Administrator is responsible for securing, configuring, and maintaining the integrity of enterprise applications, systems, and underlying infrastructure. This hands-on role combines technical administration with proactive defense, collaborating closely with IT operations, application owners, and engineering teams to implement security controls, resolve vulnerabilities, and respond to cyber secuQrity incidents.

Core Responsibilities

  • Application Security & Administration: Configure, patch, and administer enterprise applications to ensure continuous availability, baseline hardening, and proper identity and access management (IAM).
  • Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and coordinate with technical teams to prioritize and remediate application- and system-level weaknesses.
  • Incident Response & Monitoring: Monitor security alerts, analyze application logs, and participate directly in cyber incident triage, containment, and root-cause analysis.
  • Policy Implementation: Translate organizational security policies into technical configurations across application environments, APIs, and cloud services.
  • Collaboration & Change Control: Partner with change management and development teams to review system modifications, evaluate architectural risk, and maintain technical documentation.

 

Qualifications

Type of Qualification: First Degree

Field of Study: Information Technology and related degree

ZAQA Certified Grade 12 with a minimum of 5 Credits.

 

Experience Required:

 1 to 2 yrs experience.
