Job Description

Purpose of the role

To support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by the identification of business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities. 

Accountabilities

  • Identification and analysis of business problems and client requirements that require change within the organisation.
  • Development of business requirements that will address business problems and opportunities.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
  • Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions.
  • Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Creation of operational design and process design to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered within the agreed scope.
  • Support to change management activities, including development of a traceability matrix to ensure proposed solutions are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.

To be a successful Avaloq Business Analyst you should have experience with:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Avaloq Core Banking platform or alternatively in similar core banking solutions (e.g., T24, Finacle, BaNCS etc.)
  • Excellent overall knowledge of banking application and in-depth knowledge of several functional modules like security trading, order management, settlement, corporate actions, credit, payments etc.
  • Hand-on experience in designing and building functional solutions in Avaloq
  • Good exposure in delivering changes in Agile metrologies, any exposure to Scaled agile would-be a plus.
  • Good to have working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Service Now and Agile.
  • In depth knowledge of and proven track record in financial services industry working in complex business and architecture environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

Additional relevant skills given below are highly valued:

  • Masters or Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Computer Science/Engineering)
  • Hands on experience in application development experience, of Oracle PL/SQL in banking applications/ products (Avaloq knowledge would be an added advantage).
  • Experience in large IT organisation working in a support environment, supporting mission critical complex systems utilizing a large number of technologies and heavy reliance on batch processing.
  • Oracle PL/SQL / Avaloq script Knowledge of UNIX, Agile Central, Jira
