The Product & Service team is responsible for shaping the experiences our customers have across the Qantas journey. We are currently seeking a Manager Product Design & Development to lead the creation, development and delivery of innovative passenger products that enhance the customer experience while driving commercial outcomes across the Qantas network. Reporting to the Manager Passenger Products, you will lead the development and implementation of customer inflight product initiatives across domestic and international operations. You'll manage projects from concept through to delivery, translating approved strategies and business cases into customer-focused solutions that improve satisfaction, drive competitive advantage and support business transformation initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading end-to-end product development initiatives from concept, design and testing through to implementation and operationalisation
- Driving innovative customer solutions that support the Qantas transformation strategy
- Managing complex stakeholder relationships across internal business units, suppliers and design consultants
- Overseeing passenger product categories
- Monitoring project budgets, risks, issues, governance and delivery milestones
- Partnering with communications teams to support product and service launches
- Contributing to supplier selection processes, performance monitoring and commercial assessments
- Influencing stakeholders to deliver customer and operational improvements across the end-to-end journey
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Ideally 5 years' experience within the airline industry
- Demonstrated experience leading complex product development, transformation or customer experience initiatives
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Strong project management capability with experience managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent workshop facilitation, communication and presentation skills
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and drive outcomes in a complex environment
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Design or a related discipline are preferred but not essential
