Overview
The Financial Analyst is responsible for the examination of financial information in order to make sound recommendations to SVPs, Regional Directors and Restaurant Management teams on how to achieve higher restaurant profitability.
Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Under the direction of the Manger of Operations Analysis this role will partner with operational leadership to develop best practices that will drive higher restaurant profitability
- Assist restaurant managers in the development, implementation and monitoring of plans that improve restaurant earnings. This includes using a wide variety of technology and tools to prepare reports and provide detailed analysis
- Favorably impact restaurant performance by being a strategic business partner with SVP, Regional Directors and Restaurant Management teams
- Participate in Regional, General Manager and Culinary Manager Meetings providing analysis that recognizes both successes and opportunities. Highlight emerging trends and their impact so action is prioritized appropriately
- Conduct a variety of complex analyses and resolution of cost issues based on current industry standards
- Participate in the development and maintenance of performance metrics, measurements, methods and targets, and assist in identifying performance improvement opportunities
- Provide ongoing management consulting on the use and interpretation of analyses, reports, methodologies, systems and source data, acting as a significant information resource
- Proactively identify discrepancies in data, determine cause and communicate questions / adjustments to appropriate departments
- Initiate follow-up and planning phone meetings with Senior Restaurant Management and General Managers to analyze prior week's / prior month’s performance and discuss expectations for the next period
- Plan scheduled restaurant visits with emphasis on proactively identifying opportunities and developing plans for improvement
- Assist Manager of Operations and SVP in creating Budgets and Business Plan targets, G&A budgets and New Restaurant Pre-Opening budgets
- Work with Training, Information Technology, SVP and Restaurant Management to successfully implement new technology initiatives to be rolled out to the restaurants
- Provide reports, analysis and participate in special projects as requested by the Director of Operations Analysis
- Perform select restaurant financial audits. Provide coaching and follow up to ensure all areas meet acceptable compliance standards

Qualifications

- One to two years experience in accounting or financial analysis
- Requires ability to be an insightful business advisor to all levels of management, from operations managers to senior field executives and the CFO
- Skill and motivation to grow with the company into more challenging opportunities
- Excellent written and communications skills with strict attention to detail
- Ability to develop and champion corrective ideas based on analysis findings
- Highly proficient on all MS Office products, especially Excel and Access
- Ability to work quickly and accurately while adhering to tight deadlines
- Prefer candidate with restaurant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
