We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of cloud-based data pipelines, ETL processes, and data ingestion frameworks supporting FEMA’s data analytics platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and optimize complex data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
- Lead data modeling, partitioning, and performance tuning.
- Ensure FISMA/FedRAMP-compliant security and data governance.
- Support analytics, AI/ML teams, and cross-program data initiatives.
- Oversee automation, code reviews, and DevSecOps integration.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 7+ years of relevant working experience in a similar role.
- Deep experience with distributed computing (Spark, EMR, Databricks).
- Advanced SQL, Python, cloud data tooling.
- Familiarity with DHS data governance and security standards.
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- AWS/Azure/GCP Data certifications.
Clearance Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain Public Trust. Active Public Trust is preferred. FEMA Public Trust is highly preferred.
